What does a Human Resources department do?

HR department, likewise the name pertains they take care of everything related to employees/Human resources.
A Human Resources generalistmanager, or director plays a wide variety of roles in organizations.
Depending on the size of the organization, these HR jobs may have overlapping responsibilities. In larger organizations, the HR generalist, manager, and director have clearly defined, separated roles in HR management.



Initially human resources department used to be involved more into personnel and administrative task along with core functions of human resources like recruitment, training & development, employee engagement, performance appraisal and exit process. In today’s scenario HR professionals are turned out to be in business partnering playing a vital role into strategic decision making affecting human resources and organization.

The role of the HR manager must parallel the needs of this developing, changing organization. Successful organizations are becoming more adaptable, resilient, quick to change direction, and customer-centered. They recognize that organizations will vie for talent in coming years.
Human Resource professionals tend to be part of discussions when projecting requirements of resources in near future along with taking care of ongoing recruitment. Also, we talk about induction where HR orients new employees with company’s history, policies, rules & regulations, floor visit, introduction to key members in organization and explaining all the processes of department. Facilitating the skill gap analysis of the employees and provide suitable training & development plans to the decision maker. Reviewing performance of employees on regular basis gives employee a motivation and also company will achieve more productive environment.
Employee engagement through talent management, a proper methodology for their grievances handling, fair exit process can go a long way in retaining talent in crucial industries.

Human Resource Department does play a crucial role and with effective HR team, an organization can achieve more and this is an undeniable fact.
